do you carry on what your learned in algebra 2 from geometry?

i have a hard decision to make. I'm taking chemistry honors and geometry as my math but my chem teacher says if you're not taking algebra 2 then you shouldn't be in this class. i did pretty well on my math sol. this girl and i got the highest score on the math sol in the class i got the highest grade in the class for my math final and a good grade in math just in general. when my friend asked her if you could be in geometry she said yes but at least geometry honors to be in honors chem. I'm in regular. so i'm thinking of whether i should switching to geometry honors or algebra 2. and if i do switch to algebra 2 then i would be missing everything in geometry. i want to know if wat ever you learned in geometry is going to be important for algebra 2. Also i think this all depends on my counselor on whether or not i should stay in chem honors.
